The Department of Neurosurgery at Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Functional Neurosurgeon to join the team at our flagship hospital, Penn State Hershey Medical Center (PSHMC) in Hershey, PA. Fellowship level experience in Functional Neurosurgery is preferred and an interest in the neurosurgical management of pain is a plus. This is a full-time academic position with an academic appointment commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to patient care, a desire to pursue cutting-edge research, and a passion for education. The ability to work collaboratively is essential.

Position Highlights

- The Penn State Department of Neurosurgery consists of seven clinical divisions covering all the major subspecialty areas of neurosurgery and is the only academic neurosurgical practice in South Central PA.
- The Division of Neuromodulation within the Department of Neurosurgery includes senior functional and epilepsy neurosurgeons, an advanced practice provider, and a clinical nurse specialist.
- Opportunities to educate and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Support for research and innovation.
- Work collaboratively with physicians from the Departments of Neurology and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Requirements
-
- MD, MD/PhD, DO or equivalent degree
- BC/BE Neurosurgery
- Fellowship level experience in Functional Neurosurgery
- Ability to acquire a license to practice medicine in the State of Pennsylvania
- Must be able to obtain valid federal and state opioid certificates
- Track record of clinical excellence
