Description

Range Physiotherapy is looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, and caring physiotherapist to join our team in Aged Care. The physiotherapist will provide physiotherapy services to our residents to meet their identified health needs.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside an experienced physiotherapist and within a supportive team of therapists. There is also the opportunity to work in our private practice located in another small town requiring 45minutes of travel. Here, there is a varied case-load including musculoskeletal, orthopedics, neurological, sports, and rehabilitation, keeping your day varied and interesting. The caseload here is made up of a mix of mainly ‘Medicare EPC’ patients but also private patients, Work Cover, CTP, NDIS, and DVA patients. 



Requirements

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent communication, clinical reasoning, people skills, manual therapy, electrotherapy, and musculoskeletal knowledge. You must be able to demonstrate empathy and have excellent rapport-building skills across a wide cross-section of people.

The physiotherapist will provide physiotherapy services to our residents to meet their identified health needs. The Physiotherapist will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Conduct initial assessments for mobility/dexterity, pain, rehabilitation, and/or risk of falls for each resident admitted & implementation of pain management programs
  • In conjunction with ACFI Coordinator and Clinical Care coordinator develop mobility/transfer, falls prevention, and/or pain management treatment care plan as required in respect of each assessed resident.
  • Communicate the mobility/transfer and or pain management treatment plan to all relevant staff who provide hands-on mobility assistance.
  • Treat high care residents, requiring mobilisation/transfer and pain management services.
  • Consult with residents, relatives, or resident representatives about the care needs of residents and physiotherapy treatment or interventions required, as requested.
  • Ensure all resident mobility/transfer and or pain management assessments, care plans, and reviews undertaken are documented.
  • Where required identify type/s of mobility aid/s appropriate for individual residents and consult with the resident/representative in relation to any equipment required for purchasing.
  • In consultation with the ACFI Coordinator, assist with the ACFI process and ensure that all treatments and associated documentation related to mobility and pain management to support ACFI claims for each resident has been completed accurately and in a timely manner, and to support legislative requirements for funding.
  • Undertake an assessment of all resident incidents of falls within 24 hours or the next scheduled duty shift or as required by the Clinical Coordinator.
  • Additional private treatment/ rehabilitation hours are available if required
  • overseeing Physiotherapy Assistants as required

Requirements

  • Recognised and approved Physiotherapy Degree
  • Full AHPRA Registration
  • Valid police check
  • Flu Vaccination
  • COVID-19 Vaccinations
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance
